FARMHOUSE PRESENTATION
San Giuseppe farmhouse rises in Volterra countryside inside the biological farm. The farmhouse offers apartments
where you can pass pleasant and unforgettable holidays. Here you can also go for long walks in touch with nature. It is in a central
position and you can do day trip in the most important art towns and cities in Tuscany such as Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca and
San Gimignano. The seaside is 30 km far and you easily reach Cecina, Castiglioncello and Marina di Bibbona.
The farmhouse bounds on the future park "geoagricolo delle Balze e dei Calanchi": so you can enjoy excursions in a
unique landscape to the feet of the famous balze volterrane.
In the early 50's, after the agricultural reform, Ente Maremma was created (it is a politic organ which has the duty to manage the splitting
up of the land in favour of the little tenant farmers). It decided to privilege the spread takeover of the land, building a colonical
house in each farm; in this way San Giuseppe farm was born.
It was soon bought by Mr. & Mrs. Camerini and today it is still a Camerini family property. The farm, which produces
mostly cereals, has been enlarging during the year and it has preferred its own products quality to the quantity, opting for
biological agriculture.
